Wubi fails to boot, partiition corruption, looking for possible solutions.

I am interested in if there are ways to either gain access to my ubuntu partition again, or systematically recover files that may have been lost.
Windows 7 had a 'repair' session and afterward the Ubuntu partition opens with the Grub screen and can't boot.
I check the Wubi folder in windows and root.disk is 0 kb and swap.disk is 260,000 kb.
there is nothing in the boot folders.
I performed chdsk and the found.000 folders were empty.
photorec recovered a lot of files but they are unnamed and the files with a .m extension will not be recovered through photorec.
I was wondering if testdisk can recover my partition or if there are any other ways to recover my partition.
I have already referred to theses threads:
How can I recover files inside a Wubi install before re-installing Ubuntu?
Ubuntu 12.04 (Wubi) not starting - root.disk corrupted
and a handful more.
I would be more than grateful for any help.
